Before any of this, I spent years in the corporate world. I was an Assistant Director with Hy-Vee — steady career, clear path forward, and I figured that's where I'd be for a long time. But eventually it was time for a change of pace, and I found myself on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington doing some mobile bartending and helping a friend with marketing work.

One afternoon a buddy made an offhand comment — said there used to be a mobile detailer in the area and that my truck was always clean, so why not give it a shot. I wasn't looking to start a business. I just wanted to get outside on a beautiful day and try something new.

So I did.

I detailed a couple of vehicles, including one for a well-known family in Port Townsend, and before I knew it I was booked two months out. At that point I was only doing basic interior and exterior work — nothing fancy. But people noticed the difference, and word spread fast.

When I moved back to the Midwest, things got harder before they got better. The Omaha market is saturated with detailers and I had to be honest with myself about where I actually stood. So I stepped back, reassessed, and made a decision to stop competing on the same level as everyone else.

That's when I shifted my focus to paint correction and ceramic coatings for clients in the Southwest Iowa and Northwest Missouri (Maryville) area and everything changed.

I started working on agricultural equipment in addition to auto detailing. Tractors, combines, sprayers, and any machines that had been run hard for twenty or thirty years. And I realized I wasn't just cleaning them. I was restoring them and protecting investments. Bringing something back to life that someone had relied on for decades, and protecting it for decades more. That's a whole different feeling than washing a car in a parking lot.

That's where I found my lane. And honestly, that's where my why became clear.
